The multipurpose stand with a choice of holders allows, fibre optic cables, to be held and locked into multiple positions for analysis of samples. Transmission, Reflectance, Fluorescence, Thin film interference, Colour and other optical parameters can be conveniently measured and tested.
 
 

The central support rods can also be screwed into M6 holes on optical tables and breadboards, which allows many other variations of optical eometry and set up. The side arm rods have fittings to accept SMA, FC /PC, ST and ferrule terminated fibre optic cables. Others fittings accept fibre optic cables terminated with lenses and diffusers. Multiple fibre optic sensors can be positioned for complex analysis, and coupled to miniature spectrometers, light sources, detectors and opto-electronic devices. The accessories allow coupling to micro reaction chambers and device experiments. A fibre cable support arm allows fibre cables to retain their minimum bend diameter and avoid “ droop ”. Application specific attachments can be manufactured on request.

Multipurpose Work stand with two vertical support rods. [See Fig. 1]

Rods are 300mm high and 14 mm diameter [Other sizes can be requested]. These secure into the base with M6 studs. The rods can be used on larger standard breadboards and optical tables. [Work stands are also available to mount and integrate onto optical instruments, including spectrometers; LED, Thin Film, and other ,workstations. [See Fig 2.] These can be with one or two rods. Fibre optic cable clip with 4 channels. [see Fig.3 ]
This secures fibre optic cables [up to 6mm o.d. ] to avoid movement of the sensor due to coiling of the cable. This fits on the top of the 14 mm rods and is locked into position. It accepts up to four fibre optic cables. The MWS2-14RD accepts up to two of these.

Horizontal rod with lockable union. [shown in Fig 1.]

One rod and union are attached with key accessories where shown. Otherwise these can be ordered separately. The rod is 140 mm long and 8 mm diameter. [Other sizes available on request].

  STANDARD PROBE HOLDERS
 
Probe holder for ferrules of 6.35 mm diameter. [Fig.4]


The holder is rod mounted to attach to multipurpose work stands using a lockable coupling MWS-CPL-1. Minimum probe ferrule length is 20 mm. The probe position is lockable. Accepts: standard reflection probe FCR –7xx200-2-ME [Fig 4 ].

The probe position is lockable. The holder is rod mounted to attach to the multipurpose work stands using a lockable coupling MWS-CPL-1. Minimum ferrule length 20 mm. Accepts: standard reflection probe FCR –7xx200-2-1.5 x 40 [Fig 5 ].

Probe holder for Multiple ferrules with clamp. [Fig. 6]
Holds two different size probes: specify diameters xx and yy mm Provided with a clamp fitting to hold and position ferrules and fibres up to 10 mm. ORDERING: - MWS– PBHLD –MULT- CPL—1: 



Holder for Fibre optic bundles 1 to 4 mm core dia. [Fig. 7]
Accepts larger fibre optic ferrules for fibre bundles.
Specify ferrule diameter xx mm. to be used. Fibre bundles can be single or multi branch for sensing and illumination.

Angular holder for probes with ferrules of 1.5 mm dia. [Fig.8 ]

Accepts standard reflection 40 mm probe FCR –7xx200-2-1.5 x 40 . Other probe lengths are available, but should not be less than 30 mm. The standard angle [ “y” ] is 30 degrees to the vertical. For other angles specify “y” or contact us for non standard geometries. The holder can be ordered with 2 - 7 holes to accept up to 7 probes; Specify No. of holes /probe locations and arrangements. This holder is rod mounted to attach to the multipurpose work stands using a lockable coupling MWS-CPL-1..[ Included] Typical applications include back reflection studies of surfaces and gloss measurement.

LIGHT SHADE TERMINATIONS

Light Shade termination multi angular positions. Fig.9

Light Shade holder allowing 1.5 mm probes to be positioned in 11 angular positions around sample to measure reflectance or fluorescence. The 11 angular positions for the probes are set at 15 degree spacings with 5 positions on either side of the vertical location. The underside chamber has an opening of 15 x 15 mm. The CPL-1 rod attachment [included] fits into an M6 mounting hole on the side of the shade.

The reflection probe FCR-7xx200-2-1.5 x 25 and single fibre probes FC– xxyyy –SMA-1.5 x 25 can be installed into all hole positions. Fibre diameters for the reflectance probe are 200 microns and for single probes can be 200,400,600,800 microns [code yyy in part number] .

Probe ferrules are 25 mm long and 1.5 mm dia.. The fibre optics are silica with “UV” or ” IR” bias [code xx in Part No.]. All positions are lockable. Maximum working distance is 8mm.

MINI TAPER PLATFORM FOR FIBRE OPTICS

Mini taper platforms can deliver and collect light to small areas using fibre optics. Several of them together can allow simultaneous evaluations of samples at different angles in space, to allow comparison and kinetics of samples.

Mini taper platforms are designed with one end narrow and tapered. This enables them to be positioned and angled very close together. They each mount single and multiple fibre optic terminations or mini lens assemblies [COL-UV-VIS]. The standard size fibre ferrule diameter is 3.2 mm diameter as found on a SMA connector. Other diameter acceptance can be requested. Mini taper platforms can be rod mounted using an M6 threaded hole, and can be connected to the Multipurpose Workstation using the CPL-1 rod and union. They can extend in other dimensions from the CPL-1, using an additional rod and union CPL-2. Mini taper platforms also have a cable clip integrated to secure and stabilise coiling of the fibre optic.

The picture shows three taper platforms. The lower one is terminated with a mini adjustable lens collimator[COL-UV/VIS ]. The upper two are terminated with SMA size ferrules allowing very close angular mounting.

COL-UV/VIS. Adjustable fused silica collimating lens assembly with SMA connector. Lens diameter 6mm; confocal  length 10 mm.

CPL-1. Horizontal rod with lockable union. The  rod is  140 mm  long and 8 mm diameter.

CPL-2.  50 mm long sideways extension rod and union. to CPL-1.




 
Light shade terminations with adjustable working distance.

The smaller size [ Fig 10. left ] has a 15 mm scaled working distance and accepts SMA ,ST, and FC/PC terminated fibre optics up to 1000 micron core diameter.

The larger size [Fig 7 right ] has a 30 mm scaled working distance and accepts fibre optics up to 4 mm core diameter with ferrule terminations and fibres below 1000 microns core diameter with SMA, ST, and FC/PCconnectors. Both types have a 25 mm dia. working aperture on the underside. The shades are rod mountable and the CPL-1 is included

Sample platform, with sample placed on top without restriction over a xx diameter aperture. Optical axis is vertical, for transmission, forward Scattering, reflectance, or fluorescence measurement. The geometry can also be used for thin film measurement .
