NEW PRODUCTS NEW SOFTWARE

Fiber optic spectral probes now form a versatile measuring system for Films and Coatings on many types of products and in many quality control regimes. The range of coating thickness that can be monitored extends from a few nanometres, for films with single and multiple layers, such as may be found in semiconductors or optical coatings: to much greater micron thicknesses, where surfaces are rough, such as are experienced, on metal, ceramics and plastics. The instrumentation can be applied, in the quality control or research laboratory, or on the process line, or in difficult locations. The spectral probes can for example be deployed in vacuum, or in adverse temperature conditions.

Spectral analysis can be used in several ways including, spectral reflectance interferometry, Ellipsometry, surface roughness analysis, tristimulus colour monitoring , or full spectral analysis of complex layers.

The fundemental equipment includes the application appropriate fiber optic sensor, a single or multiple miniature spectrometer [card mounted], that uses PC, laptop, palmtop, or network computer. The software such as AVASOFT THIN FILM is dedicated to the application, providing a full analysis of Coating thicknesses, supported by an extensive library of coatings and substrates with n and k values

Sample presentation devices are numerous with computer controlled mapping stages, devices for microscopy, devices for non linear or curved surfaces. Jigs mounting samples for transmission studies. Very large or very small samples can be handled.
